FOUR COUNTY EMC PREPARED FOR HERMINE
September 2nd, 2016Four County EMC line workers, contractors and other utility personnel are on standby and ready to respond if power outages result from Tropical Storm Hermine, we urge the public to prepare as well.
The best way to survive a storm is to be prepared before it strikes. Now is the time to prepare an emergency kit that includes non-perishable food and bottled water, a flashlight, radio, batteries and any other items necessary for getting through a power outage. Establish an alternate location to go if you or a loved one has special needs. Charge your cell phone to stay connected to emergency and safety reports in the event of an outage. If outages do occur, our line crews will begin working as soon as it is safe to restore service as quickly as possible. Report outages at 1-888-368-7289 or through our outage map http://gis.fourcty.org/pub/map.html. You may also get storm related updates on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/fourcty.org/
Under no circumstances, should gas-powered generators be used indoors or in attached garages. Exposure to high levels of carbon monoxide can cause death. Please review generator safety tips: http://www.fourcty.org/index.php?p=11&s=70
