Four County EMC Outage Update

October 14th, 2016

Crews will continue to monitor the flooded areas closely so repairs can be made as soon as possible. Crews will continue to monitor the flooded areas closely so repairs can be made as soon as possible.

Four County EMC has restored service to more than 99 percent of its members as of Friday afternoon. The remaining services are either inaccessible because of flooding, washed out roads or homes that have damage that must be repaired by the homeowners before power can be restored. Crews will continually monitor the flooded areas closely so repairs can be made as soon as possible. In some areas, employees and crews assisting have been using boats to get into these areas to survey the situation and make repairs.

Even though about 91 percent of the Cooperatives members were without power immediately after Hurricane Matthew swept through the area on October 8, with the help of about 260 line construction and tree maintenance workers from throughout the country, Four County EMC was able to restore service in less time than originally projected.

We thank our members for their patience and many kind words as crews and co-op staff have worked tirelessly and diligently to rebuild after the storm and historic flooding.
