April 1st, 2018Four County EMC is accepting Bright Ideas applications for the 2018-2019 school year. Teachers may apply for grants up to $2,000. Funding will go to creative K-12 teachers for innovative and imaginative classroom projects. To learn more about the program and start an online application visit www.ncbrightideas.com.
Since 1994, Four County EMC and North Carolina’s electric cooperatives have worked to enhance education by engaging students in meaningful learning projects that encourage creative approaches. In the past two decades, North Carolina’s electric cooperatives have contributed more than $11.5 million to teachers for 11,000 projects benefiting more than 2.2 million students. Last year alone, Four County EMC awarded $19,860 for 23 projects supporting local teachers and students.
Grant applications will be accepted April 1 through September 28. It could pay to apply early: all teachers who submit their applications by the early bird deadline of August 15 will be entered into a drawing for one of five $100 gift cards.
