Four County Electric Membership Corporation will send 14 linemen and field crews to assist communities in Monroe, Georgia that were hit by Tropical Storm Irma. The men will leave early Wednesday morning, September 13 to help restore power in the hardest hit areas.

Four County EMC's crews will assist Walton EMC, headquartered in Monroe, Georgia. Walton EMC serves approximately 125,000 members in ten counties.  Four County EMC crews are providing manpower as well as trucks and other equipment. Local crews will work in Georgia as long as their assistance is needed.

The deployment of crews is part of a mutual aid agreement shared between the state’s 26 electric cooperatives to help one another in times of emergency.

Since most electric cooperatives utilize the same engineering and design of line systems, cooperative line crews from other cooperatives are almost interchangeable.

Four County EMC is a Touchstone Energy® Cooperative that serves over 32,500 members in Bladen, Duplin, Pender, Sampson, Columbus and Onslow counties.
