Four County EMC Returns Over $2.6 Million in Capital Credit Refunds to Its Members
December 4th, 2017Members of Four County Electric Membership Corporation will receive a capital credit refund check from their electric cooperative in December.
The Cooperative is refunding over $2.6 million to active and past members. The refund represents 100 percent of each member’s share of the margins for 1991 and 1992 and 10% of 2016. Members qualifying for these remaining margins will receive a refund check in early December. Any member whose share of the margins is less than $5.00 will not receive a check at this time, instead the amount will be credited to their December electric bill.
“Our members enjoy a significant benefit from the Cooperative way of business,” commented Chief Executive Officer Mitchell Keel about the not-for-profit company. “At the end of each year, we allocate left-over earnings to our members.”
Four County Electric Membership Corporation serves over 32,500 members in Bladen, Duplin, Pender, Sampson, Columbus and Onslow counties.
